100 days of praise Day 25/26
Doubt
We are the most vulnerable to the piercing winds of doubt when we distance ourselves from the mission and fellowship to which Christ has called us--Joni Eareckson Tada
To wrestle with God does not mean that we have lost faith, but that we are fighting for it--Sheila Walsh
Bitterness
Ephesians 4:31-32 says All bitterness, anger and wrath, insult and slander must be removed from you, along with all wickedness. And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.
grudges are like hand grenades; It is wise to release them before they destroy you. Barbara Johnson
You can not live with a chip on your shoulder. Chips make you bend your body to balance them. And when you bend, you lose your poise, your balance, and the chip gets into you. The real you. You get hard. Marita Bonner
Bitterness is a spiritual cancer, a rapidly growing malignancy that can consume your life. Bitterness cannot be ignored but must be healed at the very core, and only Christ can heal bitterness. Beth Moore

quotes
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people wont feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us, it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates other.-

Day 24 of 100 days of praise
Beyond discouragement
As Christians we have a lot to celebrate, yet sometimes even the most devout believers may become discouraged, after all we live in a world where expectations can be high and demands can be even higher. When we fail to meet the expectations of otehrs (or for that matter, the expectations that we have for ourselves) we may be tempted to abandon hope. But God has other plans. He knows exactly how He intends to use us. Our task is to remain faithful until He does.
God is a God of possibilities, not negativity.
2 Chronicles 15:7 says But as for you, be strong: dont be discouraged, for your workhas a reward.
Just as courage is faith in good, so discouragement is faith in evil, and while courage opens the door to good, discouragement opens it to evil--Hannah Whitall Smith
The strength that we claim from Gods Word does not depend on circumstances. Circumstances willbe difficult, but our strength ill be sufficient--Corrie Ten Boom
When we reach the end of our strength, wisdom and personal resources, we enter into the beginning of his glorious provisions--Patsy Clairmont
Overcoming discouragement is simply a matter of taking away the DIS and adding EN- Barbara Johnson

quote
When something robs you of your peace of mind, ask yourself if it is worht the energy you are expending on it. If not, tehn put it out of your mind in an act of discipline. Every time the thought of "it" returns, refuse it.--Kay Arthur
I intend to take this advice.....
If I could just hang in there, being faithful to my own tasks, GOd would make me joyful and content. The responsibility is mine, but the power is His.- Peg Rankin

100 Days of praise DAy 22
Whats really important...
Hebrew 13:5 Dont be obsessed with getting more material things. Be relaxed with what you have.
Do you sometimes feel swamped with by your possessions? Do you seem to be spending more & more time keeping track of the things you own while making mental notes of the things you intend to buy? If so heere is a word of warning: your fondness for material possessions is getting in the way of your relationships- your relationships with the people around you & your relationship with GOd.
Society teaches us to honor possessions.. God teaches us to honor people. ANd if we seek to be worthy followers of Christ, we must never invest to much energy in the acquisition of "stuff". Earthly riches are here today and all too soon gone. Our real riches of course, are in heaven and thats where we should focus our thoughts and our energy.
Its sobering to contemplate how much time, effort, sacrifice, compromise and attention we give to acquiring and increasing our supply of something that is totally insignificant in eternity--Anne Graham Lotz
The more we stuff ourselves with material pleasures, the less we seem to appreciate life--Barbara Johnson
Outside appearances, things like the clothes you wear, teh car you drive are important to other people but totally unimportant to God. Trust God.-Marie T Freeman
As faithful stewards of what we have, ought we not give earnest thought to our staggering surplus?-Elisabeth Elliot
I feel like Chuck & I have gotten much better in this area but we are continually striving to be better stewards of what GOd blesses us with.

Day 21 Making the Right decisions
Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without criticizing, and it will be given to him James 1:5 Some decisions are easy to make because the consequences of those decisions are small. Some decisions on the other hand are big..very big. If your facing one of those big decisions, here are some things you can do: 1 gather as much information as you can: don't expect to get all the facts- that's impossible- but get as many facts as you can in a reasonable amount of time. (proverbs 24:3-4)2. Don't be too impulsive: If you have time to make a decisions, use that time to make a good decision.(proverbs 19:2) 3. Rely on the advice of trusted friends & mentors. Proverbs 1:5 makes it clear: A wise man will hear and increase learning, and a man of understanding will attain wise counsel. 4. Pray for guidance. When you seek it, He will give it (Luke 11:9) 5. Trust the quiet inner voice of your conscience: Treat your conscience as you would a trusted advisor(Luke 17:21) 6. When the time for action arrives, act. Procrastination is the enemy of progress; don't let it defeat you (James 1:22) People who can never quite seem to make up their minds usually make themselves miserable. So when in doubt, be decisive. Its the decent way to live. There may be no trumpet sound or loud applause when we make a right decision, just a calm sense of resolution and peace.
Go in grace but change your life
Devotion today... John 8:11 says I do not condemn you either. Go, but do not sin again. "Grace is meant to justify the sinner- Grace is never meant to justify our sins. (WOW read that again, good reminder for me) Grace is meant to justify the sinner- Go and sin no more. Grace is never meant to justify our sins- Everything is forgiven, so you can stay as you are. In other words, the grace of God is not a cosmic "get out of jail free " card. Grace is given freely, but it cost Jesus a bloody price to offer it to us: Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ (Ephesians 2:13). Grace is given freely, but to walk in grace with Jesus will cost us everything as we join Jesus in "the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing."(Ephesians 2:10) Jesus rescued the woman caught in adultery from certain death, but his expectation was that her life would change immediately. To return to her old life wold have mocked the very grace that Jesus offered her that day. His expectations of a changed life is no different for us. Go in my grace, & sin no more.
