Gdaddy Day off

One of my new outfits from (Krista), brushing my tooth :)
Oh yea Im getting it now...
lunch at burger king with g-daddy, another new outfit (from Krista), I ate prunes for breakfast if that tells you anything about why I had to change my clothes :)
Im defiantly not lactose intolerant I love my ice cream
G-daddy was much easier to put to sleep at nap time then T, she had a hard time going to sleep for her afternoon nap, but she finally did, I took this photo & then put her in her bed.. :)

Nat had a new purse & wallet tonight at dinner
I know it doesnt look that great, but we had Ham stroganoff, it seemed to be a hit. Very simple, T really liked it..
2 cups ham
4 tbsp butter
1 8 oz sour cream
1 pk 12 oz noodles
1/2 c chopped onions
1 can cream of mushroom soup
Saute ham & onions in 2 tbsp butter until onion are cooked. Add soup stir until heated through. Stir in sour cream & heat carefully.(if it boils it will separate) Cook & drain noodles. Toss immediately with remaining 2 tbsp butter. Serve ham over noodles serves 4-6 people.
Funny story I guess, Natalie found T a cute Hershey Kiss costume for Halloween. Jess asked Matt if he wanted to be the marshmallow or the graham cracker (so their family would be a smore), I said Matt could be the marshmallow & wear all white, he said oh are you saying Im fat,I said no I meant you could buy whatever white clothing bigger than you are & stuff it, I guess it was funnier if you were here.. Im sure I wont hear the end of that one for awhile..
Oh another benefit for my new job. I get naps..:)

Overweight Physically & Underweight Spiritually

Thought for the day: God made us capable of craving so we'd have an unquenchable desire for more of Him, and Him alone. Nothing changes until we make the choice to redirect our misguided cravings to the only One capable of satisfying them.
The author says her journey to healthy eating dint gain traction by counting calories or obeying rules of the food pyramid. It began when she admitted she was overweight physically. But more importantly she was underweight spiritually. Tying these 2 issues together is what opened her eyes to see God in a whole new way. She relates the story of the rich man who even those he has lots of STUFF he still feels something is missing, he asks Jesus what he still lacks & Jesus says sell every thing & you will have treasure in Heaven & follow me. He goes away sad because he wont give up the one thing that consumes him. He is so full with his riches he cant see how undernourished his soul is. The author says at this point we look at the rich people & think "Well I hope they get this message. Good thing Im not rich. God thing Jesus doesnt ask me to sacrifice in this way. Or does He? Jesus meant his comment for any of us who wallow in whatever abundance we have. Jesus might have looked into this young mans soul & said "I want you to give up the one thing that you crave more than Me". The author says for her , she was like the rich man when it came to eating. She chose junky food over good food, even when it gave her headaches, sluggishness & extra weight. I refused to give up my daily brownie. (Ouch some books know how to hit you where it hurts-brownies are my all time favorite snack, dessert)..
God made us capable of craving so we would have an unquenchable desire for more of Him, and Him alone. Nothing changes until we make the choice to redirect our misguided cravings to the only One capable of satisfying them. Its easy to feel that our struggle with food is such an unfair deal. But she encourages us to see the process today as a path that offers both physical & spiritual benefits.

quote

We ought not to be weary of doing the little things for the love of God, who regards not the greatness of the work, but the love with which it is performed.--Brother Lawrence
Do something nice today for someone in the name of love, Im challenging all of us. :)

Scrap page

Shirley came on Saturday. I didnt get much done, but finally made a new page to hang in the office/scrap room. The page that was hanging there before was when Matt & Jess told us 2 Easters ago that we were going to be grandparents..
Now I have something new to look at when I walk onthe treadmill :) Hard to believe Taylor is already 9 months..
Ran over to the kids for a few minutes last night, they were lowering T's crib, she is starting to stand up in her crip & they were afraid she would fall out or start climbing out, she is getting more adventuresome. They needed to borrow a tool.
G-daddy & daddy lowering the crib
When we got there, they were outside trimming a bush, Taylor had on the same shirt as g-daddy so of course we needed a picture. Good thing grandma ALWAYS has her camera with her :)

Craving God..21 Day devotional

Book Im reading....
Thought for the day:
Eating in its proper context is not the problem. God gave us food for nourishment, strength, and even celebration. But when pleasure becomes unrestrained, there is a problem.
God doesnt care what size you are, you are beautiful the way you are.(He created you didnt he) But God loves you so much that he doesnt want you to stay in a place of defeat. Do you crave, desire & think about and arrange your life around food? Do I crave food more than I crave God? Is it possible to love & rely on food more than we love & rely on God? We have to see the purpose of our struggle with food as something more than getting to wear smaller sizes and receiving compliments. Shallow desires produce shallow efforts. These things are nice but not as appealing in the moment as a cinnamon roll, or those chips or that brownie. (Amen to that sister) :) The process of getting healthy has to be about more than just losing weight and focusing on ourselves. Its about recalibrating our souls so that we want to change for the right reasons. Some interesting things to ponder....

We have a tooth :) woot woot!!!!

You cant see it, but grandma felt T's first tooth today. Its on the bottom, middle right side.

We kept looking for it to take a picture, maybe by next week it will be sticking out enough to see it..
This is how I get T to sleep, I push her around in the stroller, while singing every preschool song I ever knew until she falls asleep , then I put her in her crib.
It almost looks like she is faking being asleep. :)

Inside out smores

Just the girls made it to Family dinner night, Jeremy has class on Wed nights this semester & Matt was having dinner with Big Wigs from his company. We had brats & hot dogs & for dessert we tried the inside out smores recipe I found on a blog. Didnt quite work out the way we planned, the directions say to use the BIG marshmallows & cut an x like in the top & stuff crushed graham crackers & choc chips inside & then put the marshamallow on the stick & cook it,it was a mess & we couldnt get the stuff inside, Jess tried to make more of a hole to put it in. Oh well...

Natalie, Taylor & I watched g-daddy & mommy try to make our smores, Oh I should mention it was probably 90 degrees out, way to hot, maybe we will try again in the fall..
It looks good & I tried to eat it with a fork I had it every where. Taylor likes graham crackers..
Taylor & I went to Joann today (Thurs) to try to find hot pink & lime green scrapbooking paper to make the invitations to her 1st birthday party. No luck we will have to go somewhere else..But we did find this lovely boa...She wasnt to sure about it..
