All of these tasks are great for small motor coordination that strengthen the muscles to begin holding a pencil & scissors for writing & cutting...Its exciting to see my idea finally come to fruation.
Troy Cass ROCKS!!!He built me this amazing cabinet for preschool, if you remember at the beginning of school he built me a cabinet for my dress up stuff. He is so talented... I visited a Montessori preschool last year & gleaned some new ideas & one was the chidlren at Montessori school do "work" on these trays, the children independently get trays off the shelf & do the task on the tray. The Montessori idea is they work on it for a day, weeks or however long it takes to master that task. You can see the trays are on the shelves at the top & then below are manipulatives that I might use on the trays or independently.
