New Years Resolutions

Whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus.

As the New Year rolls in, I think about my New Years resolutions- all the things I want to accomplish. But as I think about what my resolutions might be, somehow I want to do more than write them down, knowing that in a month or so they will become merely ink on a piece of paper.
Then I found my answer in Colossians 3:1-17 This year and every year, my resolutions should focus not on me and what will make me look better but on Christ and the place I give him in my life. Are my eyes fixed on myself or Christ? When people look at me, do they see Christ's compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience? Or do they see my anger, lack of compassion and unforgiveness? (this unfortunately has been me this past year)
In this new year I want the light of Christ in me to shine brightly. I want to show those who have strayed, those who dont know Christ, hose who are tired and looking for true peace, joy & happiness that they can find what they need in Christ. This is my resolution.
