Snow day & scrapping

page I did for taylors baby book, Im a bit behind, need a major all day & night scrap fest to get caught up, doesnt help we take tons of photos every time we see her.LOL I got a snow day today, kind of silly everyone else went to school, but I made this layout & one of her first few days. I like the 8 1/2x11 format cuz I can run it throught the printer to journal & 8x10 blow up photos look nice only problem is 4x6 photos fill up the page very quickly so yuo cant put very many on a page, need to print smaller sizes but cant always do that.
Forgot I was going to take a photo of Bryce & Britt at Ryans, we went for a celebrations dinner for them both making the honor roll. Way to go Britt & Bryce!!!!

clean fridge & snow

Bryce helped me clean the fridge on Saturday, Ahhhh a nice clean fridge...

snowy day I got the afternoon off, havent heard the kids getting out early, other schools have let out early. I shoveled when I got home that was about an hour ago & you can see its getting covered again. Now I can work on scrappin some of Taylors pictures, my favorite thing to do. Crankin up my Sugarland music & looking at photos...Life is GOOD!!!!!

Forgiveness

In Dear Abby today was a good note about forgiveness
To forgive someone is a decision to let go of the hatred, hurt and resentment even when the other person doesnt deserve it or ask for it. When we can do this, the terrible deed loses its hold on our lives. Forgiveness is an act of strength, not weakness. It is healthy for us.
The truth is we are the ones that suffer from the situation not the offender so if we can forgive it frees us to move on.

Cool new cabinet

pouring
bendable wikki sticks ,numbers

screwing nuts & bolts together, pinching & moving pom poms from one container to another
scooping

All of these tasks are great for small motor coordination that strengthen the muscles to begin holding a pencil & scissors for writing & cutting...Its exciting to see my idea finally come to fruation.

Troy Cass ROCKS!!!He built me this amazing cabinet for preschool, if you remember at the beginning of school he built me a cabinet for my dress up stuff. He is so talented... I visited a Montessori preschool last year & gleaned some new ideas & one was the chidlren at Montessori school do "work" on these trays, the children independently get trays off the shelf & do the task on the tray. The Montessori idea is they work on it for a day, weeks or however long it takes to master that task. You can see the trays are on the shelves at the top & then below are manipulatives that I might use on the trays or independently.

New Years Resolutions

Devotion on this subject:
Col.3:17
Whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus.

As the New Year rolls in, I think about my New Years resolutions- all the things I want to accomplish. But as I think about what my resolutions might be, somehow I want to do more than write them down, knowing that in a month or so they will become merely ink on a piece of paper.
Then I found my answer in Colossians 3:1-17 This year and every year, my resolutions should focus not on me and what will make me look better but on Christ and the place I give him in my life. Are my eyes fixed on myself or Christ? When people look at me, do they see Christ's compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience? Or do they see my anger, lack of compassion and unforgiveness? (this unfortunately has been me this past year)
In this new year I want the light of Christ in me to shine brightly. I want to show those who have strayed, those who dont know Christ, hose who are tired and looking for true peace, joy & happiness that they can find what they need in Christ. This is my resolution.

This is true, I also am compiling a few other resolutions. More on those later...
