God's House Church

We visited God's House worship this morning very interesting. It is an inner city worship right down town Marion. We know some people who have been going there & we have heard they are really on fire for ministry.
Music is really loud & up beat, lots of clapping, hands, waving (not exactly CHuck style :) he prefers the old hymns), nice thing was couldnt hear if you were singing & couldnt tell if you were off key or the person beside you was) LOL , they had an intermission after the singing to get a drink, bathroom, stretch whatever, you took your offering to the front at that time, then back for the preaching. So intermission was an intersting idea. The sermon was good, interesting title though, 5 easy steps to wreck your life- 5 easy steps to living dissatisfied ---catch your attention???? I guess each week he has touched on something different, this week it was being dissatisfied.
Step 1. Become great at being ungrateful
Hebrew 12:28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be THANKFUL, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe...
Step 2. Compare what you have to people who have more
2 Corinthians 10:12 We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise.
Step 3. Pursue temporary possessions over eternal treasures.
Luke 12:15 Watch out ! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a mans life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.
Step 4. Resent God for where you are in life.
Psalm 43:2 You are my God my strong hold. Why have you rejected me? Why must I go about mourning, oppressed by the enemy?
Step 5. Develop an attitude of Entitlement.
Secret of contentment: Go without, on purpose.
Philipians 4:11-13 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, & I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any & every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or want. I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.
"Life is not buying stuff you dont need ,with money you dont have, to impress people you dont like. Be CONTENT!
The pastor gave us the challenge to fast from something important to us this week, like tv, FB, video games or favorite foods or drink, or to spend more time with God. The reminder is everything here is temporary & should not be put before our relationship with Christ.
